We have had somewhat of an expensive week, having taken the plunge on our first major purchase of some nice pieces for our wall, we decided to buy 2 x Russ Mills pieces from RP, and a mere few days later succumbed to temptation and purchased a Denning. No canvas, but who cares, this will take the prize spot in our living room - 'Wasted Again'.
What began as a week of lets buy another (old) veedub for weekend treats, we finally acquired something nice to adorn our walls. So I was compelled to sign up here, as I have a feeling this won't be the last Denning.

I will gladly post some pics up as soon as we pay the balance and get the piece framed. Which I'm struggling with slightly, not sure if we should frame it tight or go for a very large frame and mount. Whichever, we are looking for an ornate (carved/mould), chunky-ish black frame, which isn't proving easy.
Frames, and framing, now theres a poser, "one mans meat is another mans poison" I was going to put my despite nature in a fancy baroque black frame and my frame man said it would detract the eye from the picture, I have mine in simple black frames and i think they look OK. I did see a guy selling a Hirst for the love of god in a bloody great big fancy frame and the frame looked great, because thats all i could see. Its about the picture/the art in my mind. Yes you need a frame but i feel that the picture, the art has got to be complimented not over taken, does this make sense. Look forward to seeing how it turns out. Good luck.BTC

We have our heart set on a french style ornate frame as it would look the bees knees in our room. I reckon the piece we have ordered (avatar) would look good in a huge frame with a good mount (probably in black too). We just can't find anywhere local that seems to have what we want.
Also can you get a non reflective glass?
Some good news though as i have just received a rather healthy looking cheque from the tax office so will be paying the balance quite soon.
