Went to Red Propeller Gallery with a friend and experienced the 'VIOLARE' show..personally thought that a very large proportion of Miunoz's work was excellent.
Munoz did not attend this show, which was disappointing as I really wanted to get all the stories behind all the images (for obvious reasons). It was his Birthday apparently and he was feeling low..
I did however, find out a story or two, but am unwilling (at this time) to write them..lets just say that SOME OF the images here attempt to encapsulate the horrors and desolation of human life in times of imprisonment and war..where hope is everything and nothing
A lot of questions are asked here..
Enjoyed the work, irrespective of some of the darker aspects of human nature and thought..
Some of the smaller pieces are superb, Old Laughing Lady 3 (white) viewed from about twenty five feet away is outstanding quality, as lifelike as it gets!
Numb study which is very small is incredible in my opinion.
Plenty of self portraits, large and small break up some very dark pieces indeed!
Love the charcoal/ charcoal and paint pieces (particularly no. 2,5,6) ..6 being the pick for me..
Numb 1 made me feel that there is always hope, no matter what.. it was inspiring.
Ashman, best of show, but not for some imho ..INCREDIBLE, pics just plain dont do it.. the story behind this is still affecting my thoughts now..I so want this piece
Check some of the canvas sizes available, huge! huge! huge!
Reasonably priced I thought..some are bargains of the highest order!!
Sorry about picture quality, it is extremely hard to capture these and I was inebriated and high as a kite..
close up of 'Static' for the brush strokes

..dont think I took a full image of large 'Untitled piece.
Thought this show was rather good, not a fan until now!!
