This is an email from Guy:

"It started off as a painting of a torturer (the renderer of enhanced interrogation)

I wanted to get the idea of the dehumanising nature of the torturer. Of what the torture does to the actual person dishing out the torture. I was hoping to show the torturer as also being an unknowing victim of their own inhumanity.
So it also became about the victims of military torture generally with this person being both the torturer and the tortured. I wanted him to seem simultaneously strong and powerless.

It's been so long since I painted the piece that I can't remember all the ideas that informed it (except the technique of Goya's paintings). "

Good luck with the sale fella. It's a great powerful piece.
Just a suggestion but you be as well to post it in the sales/trades thread here with photos, etc. just in case you get lurkers/posters only interested in Denning who don't bother with the Banksy forum. It's easily done - go to modify your 'for sale' post on Bansky, copy and paste onto here. [Sorry of you already know that ]

I would do as Scavos says and put a post up in the sales/trades section, you never know who may be doing a search and stumble upon this forum...
