I am new to this forum, so please bare with me, I have a question that may be someone can answer, about six months ago I purchased a framed print that I like the look of at a second-hand market, the wife hated it ! ! so I decided to sell it on ebay, after a bit of detective work I found that the print was "The Screaming Head" by Guy Denning, although it was nothing like the original, because the print I have is on canvas 9"x 11", so I put it on ebay as just that, a copy, I was snowballed with insults, threatening to report me to this and that society etc: by some seller on ebay called "prints4U", now what I want to know is can I sell the print I have got legally, after all I was only wanting what I paid for it which was £5.99.

Hi Peabody, When I listed a Guy I also received insulting emails from an ebay user (loser) called A4prints. Some people need to get a life. I can see no problems if you sold it as a reproduction, you have every right to sell it as such.

Hi peabody. As the wife of Guy Denning and someone who keeps the main records of all his work and the prints produced from it I can categorically tell you that the piece you are trying to sell was not produced by Guy or by any of the galleries that we deal with. More specifically it was not produced by a process or dealer that was approved by Guy and NO prints of that screaming head were ever formally produced with the authority of the artist before the Red Propeller edition. Also, the Red Propeller print wasn't even available 6 months ago so this copy must have come from Guy's website image (so why ask someone to pay for something they could also make themselves!). As the owner of this copy you can do what you like with it except pass it off as having anything to do with originals or authorised prints. As long as you only paid £5.99 for it at least the frame should cover your spending ;-)

Hi Colleen, thank you for taking the time and effort to reply, so as far as you are concerned I can sell it as a "Not Original Print" ? ? ? Although I have now taken it out of the frame and stuck it in the garage, because the wife says it haunts her.
