what's everyones thoughts on the big difference. I thought the We saw this was a weaker piece but not 6k different.

yep... 'Fears and loss' clearly the better piece... but 6k....!! Hmmm... without knowing how the bidding went it's really tough to work it out!
Anyway, I'm lucky enough to own 'Theseus' and i can't imagine that ever being worth enough to make me sell.... and (although i'm clearly biased) i think it's better than both of those sold tonight... just my view!

from memory there were 3 bidders after the first denning, and the second piece only had 3 bids total

Interesting stuff. Another step in the right direction for Guy in the recognition for his art. Much deserved and no doubt the sign of things to come. I was just imagining what 'Mort des Amants' would have made if it were up for auction. IMO a piece that would have an appeal to a wider audience. Have a great time to those going tonight. I'm gutted that yet again my work dictates that I miss another Denning show.
