Well what can I say. You was right. An awesome sight indeed. I've been waiting so long and it arrived yesterday but I was overseas so the frustration / expectation was huge. The first thing that hits you is the sheer brilliance of it. Breath taking stuff. The varnish, he must of used a gallon of the stuff. Couldn't get a picture face on because of the flash back Then the depth of texture and you're right about the hiden colours. Close up its so abstract then you step back and its a revelation ;D jubilation and on cloud 9. In the flesh this is on another level. This is what Guy told me about it. The Boy at the Back - "He's the trouble maker. The one that doesn't start the fight, but he's waiting at the back to put the boot in when there are people on the floor. Too good looking to risk an early attack (more concerned about his fighting jacket and gelled hair) but probably more dangerous than the ones that start the fight. They act instinctively but the boy at the back has time to stop himeself but carries on anyway" One word elated.

Well happy for you Bram. That really is a beauty! Glad to see it go straight up on the wall. Thanks too for the great close up shots of those lovely layers of paint. Congrats to you sir.

Yep - comes down to fate. Going to spend a little more dough on the bad boy and get him framed. Thinking of keeping the canvas open to enjoy the textures. Ideas please.

Fat ebony frame (expensive hardwood, but think it has the edge for your piece), not sure on dimensions or ornateness and so on bram.. Go check some ebony out tho if get the chance..sometimes you can get bits that have come from sunken boats (..utterly desirable and have flecks-presumably salt dotted/streaked thru it).

I love photo's framing. Maybe pinch some inspiration from him. His museum glass is incredible. I like the idea of leaving it uncovered too though.

I like Top's idea for framing, sounds perfect and I would keep this one open as well...
I'm not putting glass on my next Denning, I miss being able to really get up close and touch it if I want or smell all that paint and varnish, it really adds to it... Also, get some good light on it that has a dimmer, Denning's pieces really pop under light and bring out colors and texure you don't normally see... play with it in different light setting and you will see what I'm talking about...

Good idea about the dimmer Photo, hadn't thought about that. You are right, put different lights on it and each time it changes so much. Looks so good already, just naked on the wall, sort of make you focus on it.

LOL! I know they're not cheap. Top's idea is great and what a superb piece of advice regarding the lighting being dimmed etc. I can only imagine how good that would be to play around with the shading and tone.

Finally hung 'Petrol Bomber' ;D I asked Guy what the story was behind Petrol Bomber.. "The story behind your painting is really straightforward. I wanted to produce a piece in the vein of BANKSYs flower bomber and was messing around with drawings to see how close I could crop the image and still keep the idea of the body in the action of having thrown something". Apologize for the glare, Dennings being notoriously difficult to photograph..including the moving speaking version! ;D I have not finished with my canvas yet, an ebony (if funds allow..) frame or burred oak number would round this off nicely..coupled with a new decor! Really pleased to be fortunate enough to have this cracking canvas on my wall, cant thank Guy, Sarah and Dave enough to have made it all possible ;D ..and to finish, a trippy version taken by accident

Nice story behind it Top. You got a great addition to your growing collection there. I love the "coloured" dennings. Bet that red really glows with all that varnish and texture. Good pics. Thanks for the post.
